I saw a water tower while driving through Manor, Texas that really inspired me. I made a concept of an orbital construction vehicle from the basic shape. An attempt to make a scientifically believable design.
WINCHELL CHUNG's website Atomic Rockets has been a source of data and inspiration for the execution of these projects.
Some pictures I've taken at parks around the central Texas area.
I created these textures for various 3d projects. Sometimes these flat assets are interesting in their own right.
A concept of a realistic interplanetary spacecraft. This concept has been thoroughly worked. Calculations relating to the size, mass, volume, heat dissipation, thrust, maximum ∆v, and more have been crunched and adjusted.
Silent Mountain is designed to represent the hardware necessary to transport hundreds of passengers between planets in the solar system. Space is vast, and the vehicles that travel it might surprise our worldly expectations.

A sketch I did to anthropomorphize an old residential building.
I intend to create a more polished, floor-to-ceiling height version of this in the future that will feature far more detail.
These are images of comet Churyumov–Gerasimenko taken by ESA's Rosetta spacecraft. I halftoned them and blew them up to be a yard on a side at 300 DPI. I plan to print them monochrome on a drafting printer and make a floor-to-ceiling tetraptych out of them, covering four square yards of wall space.
When reproduced digitally, the halftone technique sometimes produces moiré patterns. This is the result of interference between the halftone's grid and the grid of the pixels which produce the image on your monitor. The phenomena does not occur in analogue. The final printed product should be quite imposing both when viewed up close and from afar.
I made a model of an old Browning machine gun. Then I gave it some physics and made them bump about in zero gravity with a long, swooping chain of ammunition.
A repository for some of my sketches.
